Our site is in a prime location for those who love spending quality time in the great outdoors. Cyclists and walkers are well catered for with literally hundreds of paths and cycle routes in the National Trust parks and forests nearby, perfect activities in the current climate. The team in our shop and reception are always happy to provide you with information regarding local attractions and events, as well as details of the popular cycle and walking routes just outside of our park.
Just under a three mile journey from our holiday park, Sherwood Pines is recommended should you wish to explore a forest a little further away from our park gates. Over three thousand acres in size, the forestry is a great place for activities, and the biking facilities provide something for everyone, including families and experienced bikers. With activity trails, play areas, bike hire, wild running and mountain biking trails, Sherwood Pines will set the scene for a great day out for all.
For those wishing to travel to some local attractions during their stay, there are plenty to choose from, both locally a little further afield, but with current restrictions you should probably check first before making any definite plans and setting your heart, or even worse the kids, on something. Our dedicated local attractions page is a handy place to visit, along with all the usual haunts such as review websites and search engines.
If you own or manage a local business and feel that your services or attraction would be interesting to our guests, please do get in touch to let us know. There are literally hundreds of places to visit nearby and we cannot help to promote them all. If you would like to have a profile on our local area page or for us include your brochure in our tourist information area at our site, just let us know via our website contact form or email.
With the current restrictions in mind, outdoor activities are most recommended for our guests, and rest assured, there is still plenty to do. Whether that’s fishing in the lake adjacent to our park, walking in the forest behind our park, cycling in one of the many local forests and nature reserves, or just having a laid back picnic or barbecue on our site, there’s still plenty to do and much to enjoy. Sometimes just a change of scenery, some fresh air and space in nature, can make the world of difference to wellbeing and mood.
